Founding beta testers: 10 shops, free audits

Messy Ledger opens first to a small group of founding beta testers in the US and Canada. While the self-serve checker is being finished, we run your audit by hand with the same engine, and your statement teaches it what real Etsy fees look like. In return, your audits are free.

What you get

  • A full audit of one statement month, free: every order's fee anatomy, the orders that lost money, your Offsite Ads exposure, refund leakage, and proof that your deposits tie out.
  • The repricing table for your listings, built from your own numbers.
  • Your report delivered by email, stamped with the fee rules and statement format it was checked against.

What we ask

  • Honest feedback on the report: what made sense, what did not, what you wish it answered.
  • Your permission to learn from your statement in anonymized form, so the checker gets smarter for every seller who follows.
  • Your shop's country and roughly how many orders you do a month, in your application. Ten places is not many, and they go to shops whose statements teach the checker the most.

How the beta works

Step 1

Apply by email. Tell us your shop's country and roughly how many orders you do a month. That is all we need to start.

Step 2

Send your statement. If you are accepted, we send you a private upload page for your monthly statement CSV. The Orders CSV is welcome too, but the statement is the one that matters.

Step 3

Get your audit. We run it by hand, spot-check it, and email your report from hello@messyledger.com. Turnaround is a few days while audits are run manually.

Your statement, during the beta

The public checker will run entirely in your browser, where your file never reaches us. The beta is the one exception, and it works only because testers choose it. The terms are plain:

  • We read the whole statement to produce your audit.
  • Your statement is never sold and never shared.
  • Your original file is deleted once your audit is delivered.
  • We keep an anonymized copy, with shop name, buyer names, and addresses stripped out, so the checker can learn real fee patterns.
  • Those anonymized copies are deleted when the beta closes.
